George K. Sosnin, of Upper Hanover Township, Barto, PA, died suddenly on July 18, 2017. He was born in Louisville, Ky, on July 20, 1940. George was a retired Plumber/Pipefitter working out of Local Union 420, Philadelphia, Pa.

George graduated from Jenkintown High School, where he was co-captain of the football team and attended the University of Louisville.

He served on many professional committees, including the American Welding Society, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, during his 50 years of service to the pipeline construction industry.

George was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Quakertown, and also of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Richlandtown, PA, where his wife served as a Pastor.

Survivors include his wife, Susan (Hofstetter); daughters, Trudy Sosnin and Jennifer Henderson; grandchildren include Dylan, Matthew, and Chase, all from Decatur, Alabama; sisters, Jessie Braue, Missy Patteerson and Mildred Rose; brothers, Embert Sosnin and wife, Helen , Frank Sosnin, and Art Sosnin and wife, Pam; and his grand-dog, Nala. There are also numerous relatives, including nieces and nephews who will sorely miss George’s compassion and hospitality!

He was predeceased by his parents, Herschel and Catherine, a sister, Cathy Johnson and grandparents.

To George’s golfing buddies, John, Earl, and Bill, George would say, “Put it in the hole.” To his wife and daughters, and all family and friends, he would want to be carried in your hearts.
