Obituary for F. James Monahan

F. James  Monahan
F. James Monahan, 78, of Pennsburg, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 in his home. He was the husband of Carole L. (Sutton) Monahan celebrating 54 years of marriage in February.

Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Frank Joseph and Edna (Steeb) Monahan.

He worked at his own machine shop, the F. James Monahan Machine Shop, his entire working life and served in the U.S. PA National Reserves.

He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.

Jim was a 1956 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and a proud member of the Montgomery County Harley-Davidson Group, commonly known as HOG, Harley Owners Group. He and his wife enjoyed square dancing and traveling by motorcycle across the country including the four corners of the United States.

Surviving along with his wife are a son, James A. Monahan and his wife, Sabrina of Red Hill; a daughter-in-law, Lisa I. Monahan of Telford; three grandchildren, Megan Casilio, Kaela Monahan and Sara Monahan and 3 great grandchildren, Logan, Parker and Cassidy. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Ronald A. Monahan, a grandson, James A. Monahan, II and a brother, Dennis Monahan.

A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
