Obituary for Willard B. Jacobs Sr.

Willard B.  Jacobs Sr.
Willard B. Jacobs, Sr. 86, of Red Hill, formerly of Pennsburg and East Greenville, passed away Sunday morning, November 27, 2016 at Life Quest Nursing Center in Quakertown. He was the husband of the late Gladys A. (Schuler) Jacobs, and the fiancé of Catherine A. Jonassen of Red Hill.

Born in Niantic, PA; he was a son of the late Franklin F. and Cordie (Bertolet) Jacobs.

Willard worked at Superior Tube Company in Collegeville for over 30 years before retiring in 1991. Prior to that he worked as a baker at the former Brunner’s Bakery in East Greenville.

He was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ in East Greenville, and enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, music, walks and visiting his neighbors. He was one of the best bass fishermen around, and enjoyed sharing his catch with others.

He will be missed by his entire family including his two sons, Willard B. Jacobs, Jr. and his wife, Sandra, and Donald B. Jacobs and his wife, Nancy, all of East Greenville; 4 grandchildren, Julie Rizalvo and her husband, Jonathan, Stacey Ouellette and her husband, Brent, Tim Jacobs and his wife, Rachel and David Jacobs; 5 great grandchildren, Amber Smith and husband Bryan, Brianna and Gavin Ouellette, Lucas Rizalvo, and Mackenzie Jacobs; 3 great great-grandchildren, Bryce, Rylan and Greyson Smith; and a sister Jane Kevin and her husband, John of Pennsburg. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Lester Jacobs.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday December 1, 2016 at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville PA 18041 with the Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating. Burial follows in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
