When I was about 12 or 13 years old, I was going through ( I believe) my first "crush / Broken Heart".
As Mom and I sat at the Living Room table (lived in Lansdale at the time), Mom was playing with a spool of florist wire while I whined on endlessly about the pain and how I would "never fall for anyone again" and all that.
By the time I had finished my bawl-fest, Mom had fashioned me a pair of "Wisdom Glasses" out of the florist wire - so that I could "see things more clearly in the future", and that I would see that I WOULD fall for someone again - over and over, in fact.
I have MANY gentle wisdom stories about my Mother. I am comforted and cheered by these memories, I am fortunate that her wisdom was shared with me throughout the years, and outright amazed at how correct and wise my Mother is !! Thank you for that, Mom.
