Earl Shultz  Fox
Earl Shultz Fox, 94, husband of Marian Amanda (Schultz) Fox, of Catonsville, MD and formerly of Silver Spring, MD and East Greenville; passed away at Charlestown Erickson Community in Catonsville, MD.

Born in Hereford; he was a son of the late Mary Kriebel (Shultz) and Edwin James Fox.

Earl was a 1941 graduate of East Greenville High School. He then graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Education in 1948 and a Master’s degree in 1950 from Penn State University.

Earl worked from 1952 to 1962 with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. While with the USDA, in 1953 he was assigned to the American Embassy in Manila, Philippines as Assistant Agricultural Attaché; and subsequently assigned to the American Embassy in Rome, Italy for about three years. Later, he worked for Prosterman Associates in Agricultural Economics, retiring at the age of 72.

Earl served in the United States Army Air Forces during WWII, where he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. Earl was a Flight Officer Bombardier, serving from June of 1943 to September of 1946. He served in the 429th Bomb Squadron, 2nd Bomb Group, 5th Wing, 15th Air Force in Europe.
Earl was a member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church in Palm and attended Hughes United Methodist Church in Wheaton, MD.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 67 years are three children, Nancy J., wife of Keith W. Janson of Ellicott City, MD; Elaine S. Fox of Germantown, MD and Kenneth E. Fox and wife, Lisa J. of Silver Spring, MD; four siblings, Lucile, wife of Robert Jones of Palm; Goldie Graber of Hereford; Ray Fox and wife, Fun Tat of Upper Marlboro, MD and June Smoll of Hereford; four grandchildren, Todd, David, Katrina and Sara. He was predeceased by an infant daughter and four siblings, Stanley, Austin and Curtis Fox and Florence Dean.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, July 18, 2106 at the Palm Schwenkfelder Church, 833 Gravel Pike, Palm, PA 18070 with Rev. Nicholas Pence officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Schwenkfelder Cemetery, Palm. There will be a viewing from 11am until 12 noon on Monday at the church. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
