Obituary for Milton W. Bilger

Milton W.  Bilger
Milton W. Bilger, 86, husband of 50 years to the late Eva F. (Hinkle) Bilger, of Schnecksville and formerly of Pennsburg, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.

Born in Parkland, PA, he was a son of the late Daniel and Sarah (Mogel) Bilger.

Milton was a production worker at the former U.S. Guage in Sellersville for 40 years before retiring. He served in the United States Army National Guard an Army Corporal First Class during WWII and the Korean Conflict.

Milton was a former member of the VFW Post #8344 in Schnecksville, Moose Lodge #1539 in Sellersville, American Legion Post #184 in East Greenville, the East Greenville Fire Co and Schnecksville Fire Co. He bowled with the Senior, Jordan and Rose Bowl and A-Town Leagues for many years. Milton enjoyed Sprint Car, Dirt Track Racing and volunteering with the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed sports, especially the Philadelphia sports teams.

Surviving are two sons, Gary A. Bilger and wife, Rhonda of East Greenville and Mark D. Bilger and wife Monda of Schnecksville; two siblings, Howard Bilger of Lansdale and Elaine, wife of Marlin Cobb of Quakertown; 5 grandchildren, Janice, Brock, Quinn, Danielle and Ian and 3 great – grandchildren, Maizie, Trinity and Faith. He was predeceased by one brother, Mervin Bilger.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Jim Barr officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hill. There will be a viewing from 9:00 am to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
