Obituary for Joseph D. Miller
Joseph D. Miller, 72, husband of Cindy R. (Dierolf) Miller, of Pennsburg, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital Bethlehem surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Charles and Catharine (Rogers) Miller.
Joseph was a graduate of Reading High School. He worked for 46 years at Teleflex Marine Corporation as a Machinist and ended his career in 2009, while running the Shipping and Receiving Department.
Joe was a member of Christ Lutheran Church Niantic in Barto, PA, where he served as the treasurer for 9 years and a member of church council. He enjoyed reading, going to the beach, and cruising. What he enjoyed most was spending time with his family. He was an amazing Papa.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 41 years is one daughter, Tori, wife of Grant Willman, Green Lane; one brother, Brooke Miller husband of, Marilyn, Lincoln Park, PA; and two grandchildren, Tenley and Tanner Willman. He was predeceased by six siblings, Irwin, Melvin and Charles Jr. Miller, Hettie Wardenski, Catharine Dix and Mary Lou Gery.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church Niantic, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, PA 19504 with Rev. Matthew Ollikainen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
