Obituary for Patricia L Needs (Layser)
Patricia “Pat” (Layser) Needs, 82, wife of H. Eugene Needs, of Green Lane, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Pat and Gene celebrated 63 years of marriage in August, 2015.
Born in Myerstown, PA she was a daughter of the late Mark and Erma (Kurtz) Layser.
She was a life long member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ and was employed by Harleysville Insurance Company and later as Secretary/Treasurer of Marlborough Township until retirement.
Surviving with her husband are three daughters, Debra Ann Needs of Houston, TX, Bonnie Jean Helmick and husband, Ron of Boyertown and Susan Jane Buccieri and husband, Angelo of Sewell, NJ; three grandchildren, Brittany Bucccieri and Ronald and Elizabeth Helmick. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Doris “Dolly” Torchia.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Debra Timmins officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Pennsburg UCC, 775 Main Street, Pennsburg, PA 18073.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Grand View Hospice and all her family and friends that were so comforting to her.
