Obituary for Paul M. Derr
Paul M Derr, 92, husband of the late Verna H. (Headman) Derr, of Barto, passed away October 12, 2014 at home.
Born in Congo, PA, he was a son of the late William H. and Lizzie S. (Merkel) Derr.
Paul owned and operated Paul M. Derr Garage in Barto for the past 68 years.
He was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ of East Greenville and the Sassamansville Fire Co.
Paul is a Veteran of the United States Army Air Force and served during World War II.
Surviving is a son, Ernest P. Derr and wife, Chershe L. of Barto, PA and a daughter, Lois E. wife of Robert E. Otto of Sciota, PA; and a granddaughter Alicia L. Derr of Barto, PA.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Michael D. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
