William H. Westley, 88, of Macungie, formerly of Emmaus, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. He is the husband of Julia E. (Benner) Westley. They celebrated 62 years of marriage on April 2nd.
Born in East Greenville, PA, he was the son of the late J. Harvey and Cora Annie (Stahl) Westley.
He was employed as a Cost Accountant at Keystone Cement Co. in Bath for many years before retiring.
He was one of the founders and a charter member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Emmaus.
He was a member and Past Worshipful Master of Perkiomen Lodge #595 F&AM, Red Hill; a 32 Degree Mason with Lehigh Consistory, Allentown and a member of the Perkiomen Square Club, Rajah Shrine, Reading, Perkiomen Chapter #318 OES, Red Hill and the Grundsow Lodge, East Greenville.
Surviving along with his wife are two daughters, Meda A., wife of Michael A. Henry of Wescosville and Jane B., wife of Gary W. Oplinger of Nazareth; four grandchildren, Matthew Henry and wife, Breanna of Allentown, Andrew Henry of Breinigsville and Jeffrey and Gregory Oplinger of Nazareth. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Geraldine L. Lyver.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Emmaus with the Rev. James W. Bowers and Rev. Ric Elliott officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday evening with a Masonic Funeral Service at 8 p.m. at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville and also from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday morning at the church. Burial will follow the funeral luncheon.
