William J. Utley, Jr, 75, widower of Rose Utley, of Ottsville, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Quakertown Center.
Born in Altoona, PA he was a son to the late William J., Sr. and Ellen (Walk) Utley.
In 9th grade, William went straight to the coal mines in Altoona and then became an independent truck driver for many years until his retirement.
His passion for cars was spent working on street rods, custom cars and motorcycles.
Surviving him are his children, William J. Utley, III and wife, Maryann of Gilbertsville, Gary P. Utley and wife, Angela of Fleetwood and Lance Utley and wife, Kelley of Red Hill; five grandchildren, Jacob, Desaray, Dustin, Jerry and Amanda; seven great grandchildren, Dylan, Ava, Declan, Dannika, Jor El, Scarlet and Aaliyah; a brother, Lou Utley and wife, Barbara; his half-sister Nellie, wife of Bill McNeal and his uncle Calvin “Pete” Utley.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Don; grandchildren, Bobby Jo, Travis, Daniel and Tabatha; and great-granddaughter, Lyla.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041.
