William A. Frasch, 62, of Green Lane, PA, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Kim M. (Zong) Frasch, with whom he shared almost 40 years of marriage.
Bill was born in Ashland, PA son of Deanna (Young), wife of Paul Sharp and Billy G., husband of Carol Frasch. Bill, his mother, father and sister Linda moved to Wedgewood in Lansdale, PA in 1960. He graduated from North Penn High School in 1978. Bill was employed for many years as a machinist for Teledyne Judson Technologies until his recent illness.
Bill grew up surrounded by avid outdoorsmen who lead him to find a love for the outdoors. Not only did Bill enjoy hunting and fishing himself, but he had a sincere passion for education and deeply enjoyed teaching others about the outdoors. He was a member of Boulder Valley Sportsmen's Association, Branch Valley Fish, Game and Forestry Association, Inc. as well as Great Swamp Fish and Game.
Bill was a founding member of the Fish Hunters Club in Montrose, PA. “The Cabin'' was established in 1983 and grew into a place where Bill, his family and friends would spend many weekends and holidays. In addition to archery and rifle hunting for turkey and white tail deer, Bill enjoyed using The Cabin as a place to teach his children, and then grandchildren as well as many other family friends and their children the joys of the outdoors. Over the years, no one had as much skill or patience as Bill did down at the pond demonstrating how to bait a hook and detangle fishing line.
He was a patriotic citizen and loved being a social member of American Legion Post #933 Hatfield, PA and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1761 Lansdale, PA Clubs. Bill treasured playing Santa every year for the Hatfield Legion and other local groups in the area. In addition to the legion’s Christmas festivities Bill always enjoyed the Memorial Day parade and other commemorative activities held to remember all who have served our great country.
Bill was also an avid Nascar fan. He loved taking the family to camp at Pocono and watch the race from the infield, in particular his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt Sr. He enjoyed participating in the weekly race pool at work and continued to ask from the hospital that someone record the race in hopes of watching them when he came home.
In addition to his wife, parents and step-parents, he is survived by his daughters: Rachel Austin and her husband Craig, grandchildren Claire & Billy of Palm; Jessica Frasch, granddaughter Amelea of Green Lane; and Kathryn Frasch and companion Brandon Frey, of Bechtelsville; sister, Linda Grau, of Hatfield; brother, Curtis Frasch, of Lakeland, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on FRIDAY, JUNE 25, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boulder Valley Sportsmen's Association located at 2030 Perkiomenville Road Green Lane, PA mailing address PO Box 272 Sumneytown, PA 18084.
