William Engle

William J. Engle, 56, husband of Karen A. (Wentzel) Engle, of Main Street, Red Hill, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, January 17, 2010 in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA. He and his wife were married for 35 years in July.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late James F. and Grace M. (Wallace) Engle.
He was employed as a production worker at Superior Tube, Collegeville for 20 years where he was a member of the United Steelworkers Union.

He was a lifelong member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and a member of the Red Hill Fire Company and the VFW #5954, Red Hill.

Surviving with his wife are 3 children, Holly E., wife of Robert P. Metzgar of Sinking Spring, PA, Drew W. Engle and wife, Heather E. of Lansdale, PA and Sean J. Engle, at home; a brother, Joseph P. Engle of Pennsburg, PA; a sister, Theresa G., wife of Carey Brinckman of East Greenville, PA; 3 grandchildren, Ian, Darren and Winter Metzgar, many aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was held 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Philip Neri Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA with the Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg, PA. A viewing was held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA and also 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
