William “Willy” E. Dries, Jr., 76, husband of Karoline (Mauer) Dries, of Zionsville, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.
Born in Hosensack, he was the only child of the late Fietta (Hinnershitz) and William E. Dries, Sr.
He worked as a Fork Lift Operator for 30 years before retiring from Mack Trucking Co. of Macungie and was a member of United Autoworkers (UAW) Union.
Bill was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church of Allentown. He loved to hunt and garden and was a Phillies fan.
Surviving along with his wife of 53 years; are his children, Monica L., wife of David Knauss of Alburtis; Lori J. Dries of Wescosville; and William E. Dries, III and his wife, Rachelle of Wilmington, NC; 6 grandchildren, David, Jennifer and Jonathan Knauss; Elisabeth, Ashleigh and William E. Dries, IV.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 6528 Hamilton Blvd, Allentown, PA 18106 with Rev. Greg Wollenhaupt officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 2:30 to 4 pm. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at 2 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery, Pennsburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Evangelical Free Church, “Building Fund”, address listed above.
