Willard Long

April 4, 1930 — April 16, 2024

Willard Alton Long, 94, of Red Hill, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. He was the loving husband of the late Helene L. (Hank) Long with whom he shared 70 years of marriage before her passing in 2021.

Willard was a 1949 graduate of East Greenville High School. He held several jobs throughout his lifetime, retiring from American Olean Tile after 35 years of service.

He was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg. Willard loved taking walks, especially with his wife, and gardening; he always had the most beautiful flower garden. He was the kindest man with a huge heart and always had a smile on his face. He loved his family and cherished every moment he got to spend with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters: Beverly A. Yoder and her husband Richard of Bechtelsville and Debra A. Heacock, widow of Harry of Green Lane; two grandchildren: Nikolos Yoder and wife Michelle and Nathan Yoder and wife Danielle; and six great-grandchildren: Elias, Miya, Shelby, Willow, Waylon and Beau.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 81 Main St, Pennsburg, PA 18073.
