Wilford R. Leister, 72, of Pennsburg, known by many as “Butch”, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Pennsburg Manor.
Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Forrest and Verna (Wolf) Leister.
Butch was a 1961 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School.
He worked as a Production Worker for 43 years at Knoll, Inc in East Greenville.
Butch was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg. He enjoyed watching baseball, golfing, bowling, shooting pool and being with his family. Every month he looked forward to lunch with his co-workers and loved taking his sister Dorothy, out to eat and run errands.
Surviving is one sister, Dorothy Hunsberger of Green Lane; many nieces and nephews and his longtime friend, Gary Detweiler of East Greenville. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Kenny Leister and two sisters, Betty Boehm and Pearl Leister.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Dr. Barry L. Moyer officiating. Burial follows in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Red Hill. There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
