Victor Moyer

June 10, 1928 — April 1, 2014

Victor J. Moyer, Jr., 85, husband of the late Larue Isabel (Huber) Moyer, of Boyertown and formerly of Pennsburg, East Greenville and Red Hill, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Berkshire Center, Reading.

Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Lizzie (Schuler) and Victor J. Moyer, Sr.

He graduated from East Greenville High School in 1946 then served in the U.S. Navy and was a proud veteran of World War II.

Vic worked as a Delivery Driver for Carver’s Dairy in Boyertown for 20 years then retired in 1993 as a truck driver for Keller’s Creamery.

He was a past member of Pennsburg Borough Council and was instrumental in organizing the valley baseball program. He was active in the Upper Perk Sports Boosters and was a former member of the Jaycees.

He was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ and served as a deacon on the church consistory.

Surviving are three sons, Stephen J. Moyer and wife, Emily of Gilbertsville; Michael J. Moyer and wife, Patricia of Pottsgrove; and Brian J. Moyer and companion, Arlene Marks of East Greenville; seven grandchildren, Kyle Moyer, Chris Moyer, Jeff Moyer, Melissa Elison, Erin Slack, Greg Moyer and Rachel Slack; and five great-grandchildren. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and Warren Moyer and two sisters, Marie Livingstone and Violet Stottlemire.

There will be a viewing from 10 until 10:45 am Friday, April 4, 2014 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville followed by a private family funeral service with Rev. Michael Jones officiating. Burial follows in the church Cemetery.
