Vernon L. Karver, 91, formerly of Pennsburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Frederick Living. He was the loving husband of the late Delores E. (Stuber) Karver, sharing 67 years of marriage before her passing in 2018.
Born in Pennsburg, he was the son of the late Nathan and Lillie (Walter) Karver.
Vernon worked at Fisher’s Cleaners in Quakertown and Bauman’s Cleaners in East Greenville as a presser and then finished out his career as a custodian at Boyertown School District, retiring in 1994.
After retirement, Vernon spent many years traveling; he especially enjoyed his trips to Germany with the Perkiomen Tours. He also loved to garden and spend time with his family.
Surviving are his daughter, Linda D. Dugan, wife of James H. Dugan, Jr.; and two grandsons, James H. and David C. Dugan. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Jonas, Abner, Ammon, John, Charles, Margaret and Catherine Karver.
Services will be private at this time. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Spinnerstown. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville. Please offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com
