Verna M. (Derr) Frey, 95, widow of Cernall A. of Quakertown, formerly of Red Hill and Palm died on Saturday, July 28th in St. Luke’s Hospital, Quakertown.
Born in Hosensack, she was a daughter of the late Wilmer and Stella Derr.
She worked as a Sewing Machine Operator for many years, working for the former Rosenau Manufacturing Co., Red Hill, Pennsburg Clothing Factory and Styer’s Convalescence Home in Pennsburg. Verna retired in 1976.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Pennsburg and of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Citizen’s Center in East Greenville.
Verna was survived by two daughters, Virginia Eppler wife of Arnold of Boyertown and Betty Schuler of Red Hill; a brother, Robert Derr of Bechtelsville; two sisters, Mabel Schmetzle wife of Carl of Allentown and Helen Fegley of Pennsburg; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren.
Along with her husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Dean Schuler; and the late Willard, Samuel, Layton, Freda, Luther, Lena, Roland and Mary.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012 in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Penn Street, Pennsburg, PA with Rev. William A. Fluck, Pastor Emeritus officiating.
