Theodore J. Rickert, 93, of East Buck Road, Pennsburg, died Monday, December 6th at Pennsburg Manor. He was the husband of the late Viola M. (Zepp) Rickert for 62 years, married on April 27, 1946.
Born in Lower Milford Twp, he was a son the late Isadore and Mary A. (Ginder) Rickert.
He worked 17 years for New York Bag in Pennsburg and 25 years for Keller’s Creamery in Harleysville, before retiring in 1982. He was a member of Pennsburg Fire Company, Upper Perkiomen Senior Center, Keller’s Retirement Group and served in the US Army from September 1946 to May 1947.
Surviving is a son, Michael T. Rickert and wife Debra M. of Pennsburg, two grandchildren, Michael C. Rickert and friend, Kimberly Ingraham of Mantua, NJ and Matthew W. Rickert and wife, Rebecca L. of Hoboken, NJ; a sister in law, Anna K. Long and husband, Ephraim of Pennsburg. Along with his wife and parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Walter and Charles; sisters, Dorothy, Elizabeth and Marie.
A funeral service will be held 12 noon, Thursday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Interment will follow in Pennsburg UCC Cemetery, Pennsburg. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home.
