Stella Benner

September 30, 1919 — March 11, 2014

Stella T. (Laskowski) Benner, 94, widow of Claude C. Benner, of East Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Frederick Living.

Born in Quakertown, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Marcella (Pieleck) Laskowski.

She worked as a cashier at the former Sticky Business in East Greenville for several years and many years at Keystone Transformer Co., Pillsbury, Tung-Sol and Plummer Precision Optics. She also was a volunteer for the Thrift Shop and Red Cross Blood Mobile.

Stella was a longtime member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ.

Surviving are her son, Lamar Benner and his wife, Doris of East Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Benner of Harleysville; a sister, Wanda Woodcock of Springfield; four grandchildren, Connie Benner of Stowe, Mark Benner of Ballston Spa, NY, Cheryl Cressman of Palm and Robert D’Hulster of Schwenksville; and six great grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Ryan and Jillian Cressman and Ian and Kyle D’Hulster. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by son, LaVerne Benner, a grandson, John D’Hulster, a great grandson, Christopher Cressman and siblings, Virginia Sokolowski, Florence Boryezewski and Walter Laskowski.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville with Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating. Burial will follow in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 10 until 11 am Saturday at church. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
