Stacey N. Hensley, 41, of Orwigsburg, PA, passed away as a result of an automobile accident on Monday, March 27, 2023. She was the wife of John David Hensley.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of Benjamin E. and Linda L. (Moyer) Puzauskas. Stacey was a graduate of Boyertown High School. She was also a member of the school’s Key Club and National Honor Society.
She took her academic talents to Alvernia University, where she earned her BS, MS, and Principal Certification. During her senior year, Stacey was featured in an article in the Reading Eagle commending her for her achievements in the classroom and beyond as a volunteer for Berks County Youth Center, Head Start and Mary’s Home.
Her professional career began as a 5th grade teacher for the Reading School District at its Lauer Park Elementary. She was currently working as an administrator in the Special Education Department. Stacey saw her work at Reading School District as an opportunity to use education to help underprivileged students build successful lives.
Stacey was an excellent softball player. She played at Boyertown High School, Alvernia University as well as the Emmaus Hornets Travel Softball Team. She volunteered as a coach with Orwigsburg Youth Basketball and Baseball programs. She also loved watching and supporting her son Aiden’s Travel Soccer team.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her son, Aiden D. Hensley; step-son: Bryce J Hensley; brother, Steven Puzauskas and wife Jaime; and their children to whom she was godmother of: Carter and Lila Puzauskas.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30-11:30 AM at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established to support Aiden.
