Shirley Mae (Leh) Rutz, age 87, of Toms Brook, Virginia for past 15 years and formerly a long time resident of Adams Street, Red Hill, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Virginia. She was the wife of Jack T. Rutz celebrating 58 years of marriage on November 24, 2012.
Born in East Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Florence (Eck) Leh.
She was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ in East Greenville.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed by her husband, Jack; son, Dana Eckhardt of Titusville, Florida; grandchildren, Richard, Anita, Gregory and Erin Eckhardt; sister, Bessie Gaugler of Barto and daughter-in-law, Betsy Kresge of Macungie. Along with her parents, she was predeceased a son, David L. Eckhardt and two sisters, Janet Fetterman and Erma Shaner.
A private graveside service was held at New Goshenhoppen Cemetery with Rev. James R. Roth officiating. Local arrangements are by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
