Shirley J. (Zehner) Heacock, 78, of Red Hill, widow of Woodrow “Woody” W. Heacock, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem.
Born in Sellersvillle, she was a daughter of the late Christian and Mamie (Fiey) Zehner.
She was a 1955 graduate of Pennridge High School and had numerous jobs. She worked as a saleswoman for Frederick’s Shoes in Souderton, then as a Secretary for many years at C & D Battery in East Greenville and Plummer Precision Optics in Pennsburg and also as a Cafeteria Worker for the Upper Perkiomen School District before retiring.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sumneytown and the Red Hill Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Shirley is survived by two sons, W. Todd “Pugs” Heacock and Bruce E. Heacock, both of Red Hill; sisters, Betty Bernd of Quakertown, Anna, wife of Robert Long of Souderton, Jeanette Lukens of Sellersville, Casse Truesdale of Lansdale and Mary Long of Quakertown; a sister-in-law, Kathy Zehner of East Greenville; three grandchildren, Harrison, Madysyn and Dalton Heacock and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Edward Zehner.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with the Rev. Rebecca Eisenhart officiating.
