Shirley Batman

Shirley M. (Gantz) Batman passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on May 9, 1935, in Ruchsville, PA, Shirley was the daughter of the late Paul L. and Margaret (Warke) Gantz.

A dedicated professional, Shirley served 18 years as Secretary/Treasurer for Upper Milford Township, where her organizational skills, commitment to her work and her community left a lasting impression.

Shirley was the devoted wife of the late Harvey Batman Jr., with whom she shared an extraordinary 65 years of love and partnership until his passing in 2020. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, warmth, and cherished memories.

In her younger years, she was known for her vibrant spirit-enjoying Friday night dinners with friends, indulging in shopping excursions, and finding solace in the pages of her favorite books. She also enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach.

Shirley is remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Gregory Batman sister-in-law, Shirley Walbert; and several nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by her daughter, Melaney Batman.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on February 12, 2025 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a burial to follow in Shepherd of the Hills Cemetery, Bechtelsville. Family and friends may attend a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
