Samuel W. Treichler, 83, of Palm, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the loving husband of Amy E. (Kneibler) Treichler, sharing 55 years of marriage.
Samuel was born in Allentown, PA to the late Clarence E. and Mary M. (Steinman) Treichler.
Sam was a 1955 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School where he excelled in playing football and baseball. He was a proud member of the 1953 Championship Football Team. He also earned a bachelor's degree from East Stroudsburg University and then went on to receive his master's degree in Special Education from Temple University.
He was a special education teacher at Upper Perkiomen, Methacton and Upper Bucks IU School Districts. Following his career in teaching, he became an insurance agent for many years until his retirement.
Sam was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing golf, tennis, hunting, fishing, traveling, and cheering on his favorite teams, the Phillies and Eagles. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving along with his wife are his daughter, Laura Basara and husband, Gene; and two grandsons, Mason and Owen Basara of Bethlehem, PA. He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Ronald Treichler.
