Sadie M. (Geiger) Roberts, 83, widow of Walter R. Roberts, of Gilbertsville and formerly a longtime resident of Pennsburg, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.
Born in Sumneytown, she was a daughter of the late Wilson L. and Ada M. (Witman) Geiger.
Sadie worked as a Production Worker at American Olean Tile for over 20 years before retiring and was a 1952 graduate of East Greenville High School.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. After retiring she spent most of her time enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren and all of their activities.
Surviving are three children, Mark Roberts of Muncy, Lori Hill, and husband, Anthony of Gilbertsville and Kyle Roberts and wife, Jane of Perkiomenville; a daughter-in-law, Rita Roberts of Danville; a sister, Helen M. Kershner of East Greenville; six grandchildren, Ryan A. Williams, wife of Ryan Cuscovitch, Andrew Williams, Terri Hurley and husband, Chad, and Erin, Levi and Kasey Roberts and six great grandchildren, Reece, Ridley, Caleb, Brett, Jax and Logan. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Roberts, two brothers, LeRoy and Harold Geiger; a sister, Luella Geiger and a grandson, Brett Roberts.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Green Lane, PA 18054 with the Rev. Rebecca L. Schanely officiating. Burial will follow in Frieden’s Union Cemetery, Sumneytown, PA. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at church prior to the service.
