Ruth E. (Fosbenner) Stoudt, 93, widow of Russell M. Moser and Ernest M. Stoudt, of Pennsburg, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2019 at Pennsburg Manor.
Born in Perkasie, she was a daughter of the late R. Franklin and Sarah Ann (Berry) Fosbenner.
In Ruth’s earlier years, she worked at Sumneytown Pants Factory for 15 years, Rosenau Manufacturing Co. in Red Hill for seven years and then she went on to own the former Ernie’s Steak Shop in Green Lane with her husband, Ernest, for 20 years before retiring in 1985.
Ruth was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sumneytown where she was on the social events committee and a member of the senior citizen’s center in East Greenville.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time at Jake’s Flea Market, where she was better known as the “Chow-Chow” lady.
Surviving are her two grandchildren, Todd Moser, Sr. and fiancée, Tara Kile and Melissa, wife of Scott Kriebel; daughter-in-law, Darlene Moser; five great-grandchildren, Todd Moser, Jr. and fiancée, Ashlyn Reynolds, Kyle Moser, Hayley Kriebel, Mackenzie Kriebel and Joshua Kile; great-great granddaughter, Keegan Moser; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she is predeceased by her son, Reuben “Dutch” Moser; her brother, R. Franklin Fosbenner, Jr.; and her sister, Janice Vazquez.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Green Lane, PA 18054 with Rev. Rebecca Schanely officiating. A burial will follow in Frieden’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 12 to 1 pm.
