Ruth M. (Fox) Steinman, 96, formerly of East Greenville and Allentown, died on Christmas day, at Phoebe Allentown. She was the widow of Paul F. Steinman who was a former area teacher and a principal.
Born in District Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Ammon and Stella (Reinert) Fox.
She worked as a food demonstrator for 15 years at several Allentown area grocery stores in her later years. She was a 1934 graduate of Boyertown High School and loved sewing, cooking and knitting. She was a longtime member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Lucille Barnes Weaver and husband, David of Allentown; sister, Phyllis, wife of Franklin Brown of Reading; grandson, Timothy Barnes and wife, Gina of Philadelphia and two great grandchildren, Cameron and Anneliese. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Beaumont Fox and a sister, Anna Garner.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041 with the Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at church.
