Ruth (Harris) Kibler, 95, widow of Granville E. Kibler, died on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at The Lutheran Home of Topton.
A daughter of the late Walter and Lina (Davis) Harris, Ruth was born and raised in Parsons, Luzerne County, PA, and after marrying, moved to Collingswood, NJ, to look for employment during the depression. She lived there until her retirement, when they moved to their summer home in Stoddartsville, PA.
Ruth was a bookkeeper at Coca-Cola and Spiramatic in Camden County, NJ, until 1974. She later worked part time as a bookkeeper for twenty-three years at Long Realty in Blakeslee, until retiring in 2002 at the age of 83. She was an avid reader, skilled seamstress, and had many hobbies including oil painting and making stained glass. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Surviving are a son, Dr. John J. Kibler and his wife, Deborah, of Hamburg; a daughter, Ruth Ann Farber
and her husband, Robert, of Harwinton, CT; seven grandchildren, Barbara, Daniel, Brian, Todd, Angela, Stacie, and Rachel: and four great grandchildren, Aiden, Gwyneth, Corey, and Kayla. Along with her parents and husband, Ruth was predeceased by a brother, John Harris, a sister, Violet Jones, and a
granddaughter, Heather Lee Kibler.
A private memorial service will be held, with a private burial to be held at the Gilbert Cemetery in Gilbert, PA. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
