Ruth E. (Kraft) Harvey, 77, of Bechtelsville, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in Barto where she was residing with her daughter. She was the loving wife of John “Jack” Harvey, sharing 30 wonderful years of marriage together.
Born in East Greenville, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Beatrice M. (Marks) Kraft.
Ruth was a 1959 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and then put all of her love into raising her family and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg and enjoyed painting ceramics and jigsaw puzzles. Ruth also loved to thrift shop any chance she could; making many friends along the way.
Surviving along with her husband, are her five children, John I. Stitt and wife, Lisa, Christine E., wife of Mark Schwartz, Larry R. Stitt, widower of Sheri, Brenda L. Robinson, companion of Zachary Foose and Michael D. Stitt; four step-children, Marie E. Bergen, Richard D. Harvey, Jim E. Harvey and Teresa D. Harvey; 15 grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Kyle, Carl, Kenny, Brittany, Jordan, Austin, Matthew, Corey, Shane, Hailey, Carter, Cheyenne and Ean; nine step-grandchildren, Patrick, Brandon, Alex, Mahendi, Elijah, Kristin, Zachary, Jordan and Dallas; 13 great-grandchildren, Jaden, Jenia, Jennel, Averie, Colton, Aurora, Gabriel, Malia, Leighava, Brayden, Trent, Aiden and Shawn; one step great-grandchild, Ariel; three sisters, Sandra K. Breunig, Louise M. Lane and Patricia Ann, wife of John Carr; a brother, Larry C. Kraft, and companion of Amanda Ream; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A burial will follow in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery.
