Ruth M. (Stumhofer) Harpel, 93, widow of Franklin B. Harpel, of Perkiomenville, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Pennsburg Manor.
Born in Exeter, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Annie (Auman) Stumhofer.
Ruth was a 1941 graduate of Oley High School and a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ in East Greenville.
She is survived by her son, Roger F. Harpel and wife, Karen of Boyertown; a daughter in law, Shirley (Kolb) Harpel of Perkiomenville; four grandchildren, Dawn Howard, Jamie Harpel, Kevin Harpel and Craig Harpel; and seven great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Nickolas, Brock, Alicia, Layla, Chase and Tucker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son, David A. Harpel; a sister, Arlene Youse; and brothers, Thomas and Ray Stumhofer.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Bonnie L. Moore officiating. Burial follows in New Goshenhoppen Church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
