Robert Yerger

July 26, 1928 — December 2, 2012

Robert B. Yerger, Sr., 84, husband of the late of Helen P. (Yost) Yerger, of East Greenville, died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia.

Born on the family farm in East Greenville, he was a son of the late James M., Sr. and Margaret (Bauer) Yerger.

Robert attended Wentling Schoolhouse and worked on the families’ dairy farm. In addition to being a lifetime farmer, he also sold farming equipment.

He was a lifetime member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Goodwill Fire Co., Bally; and the Farm Bureau Association. Robert loved farming, auctions, and scrapping for over 50 years, always looking forward to the next sale.

Surviving are his children, Robert B. Yerger, Jr. and wife Terry of East Greenville; James L. Yerger of East Greenville; Trudy H. Pazzelli companion of Paul Mauger of New Berlinville; Lorraine M. Yerger of East Greenville; MaryAnn V. wife of James Barbacow Jr. of East Greenville and Christopher P. Yerger, Sr. and wife Jackie of Green Lane; his companion Floss Weirman; brother, Paul Yerger Sr. and wife Minnie of Alburn, PA; sisters, Marie Jacob of Bally and Anna Force of East Greenville; six grandchildren, Jason and Eric Wentzel, Elisha Yerger, Nicole and Danielle Barbacow and Christopher P. Yerger, Jr.; one great-grandson Conner Bennet Wentzel and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Earl I. Yerger and a brother James Yerger, Jr.

A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 6 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA 19503 with Monsignor Edward J. Coyle officiating.

Burial follows in the church cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing Wednesday, December 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home Inc, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA and Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
