Robert Nester

Robert L. “Reds” Nester, 76, of Bally, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospice – 17th and Chew, Allentown. He was the lifelong companion of Elizabeth M. Beller with whom he resided.

Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Norman M. and Ella L. (Gery) Nester.
He was a 1957 Graduate of the East Greenville High School and a Veteran of the US Army.
Reds worked as a mason for Nester Brothers for over 30 years retiring in 1998.
He was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ.
Reds was a Life Member of the American Legion Post #184, East Greenville and had also worked as a bartender there for many years and enjoyed playing Softball at the Eagle AA field.

Surviving along with his companion are a daughter, Denise M. Murphy of West Reading, a sister, Eva Adam of East Greenville; 5 grandchildren, Mary Ashley, Dennis, Dean, Noelle and Joelle and Elizabeth’s son, Jim Beller of East Greenville. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Dean R. Nester and siblings, Marguerite, Ruth, Helen, Alverta, Lloyd and Norman.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville with Rev. Michael Jones officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:30 until 10:45 am Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
