Robert Mcnaughton

July 29, 1952 — March 5, 2014

Robert “Bob” H. McNaughton, 61, husband of Mary Ellen (Mooney) McNaughton, of Worcester Township, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Waccamaw Hospital, Murrells Inlet, SC.

Born in Allentown, PA he was the son of Hugh L. and Fern T. (Wahl) MchNaughton of East Greenville.

He was a 1970 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music in 1974 from Heidelburg College in Tiffin, OH.

Bob was the Band Director and Music Teacher in the High School and Elementary Schools of Perkiomen Valley School District, retiring in 2012.

He was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, East Greenville.

He was a longtime member and played the saxophone in the Red Hill Band and was an avid golfer and golf coach, pet and animal lover and a fan of the EAGLES.

Surviving along with his wife and parents, is his daughter, Marissa C. McNaughton of Worcester; his sister, Deanna G., wife of Stuart G. Schoenly of Northboro, MA; nieces and nephews, Crystal Smith of Quakertown; Katie Camburn of Lansdale; Haley and Ian Mooney of Chicago, IL; Brianna and Conner Shillington of Willow Grove; Heather Jones of Windermere, FL and Reed Schoenly of Coraopolis; and great-nephews, Alexander Jones of Windermere FL; Tyler and Jake Schoenly, Coraopolis; Colin and Rebecca Kadlecik; brothers-in-Law, Joseph F. Mooney, Michael Mooney, Richard Mooney, Paul Mooney, Edmond Skrzat, Joseph Shillington and sisters-in-law, Patricia Skrzat, Bernadette Shillington, Michelle Salazar (Joseph Mooney); and Tara Jacoby Mooney (Michael).

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Michael D. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 and also from 12 noon to 1 pm Tuesday afternoon at the church.
