Robert C. Leister, 79, widower of Shirley F. (Heil) Leister, of Dogwood Drive, Green Lane, died February 25, 2012 at Life Quest Nursing Center.
Born in Geryville, he was a son of the late Charles O. and Anna (Dulin) Leister.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving for 21 years before retiring as a Master Sergeant and serving during Korea and Vietnam before retiring in 1971. He then was the Director of Events for Three Rivers Stadium for 15 years and a Park Ranger at the Montgomery County Park Boat Launch in Red Hill for 10 years.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sumneytown.
Surviving are three children, Randy and wife, Marlena of Bellevue, Nebraska, Cindy, wife of Forrest Breyer of Green Lane and Peggy Loy of Pennsburg; five brothers, Roy and wife, Judee of Harrisburg, Charles and wife, Bonnie of Pennsburg, Donald and wife, Polly of Muncy Valley, Merrill and wife, Brenda of Hellertown and Larry and wife, Pat of Waterford, OH; two sisters, Phyllis, wife of George Manion of Pennsburg and Nancy, wife of Ray Brey of Pennsburg; a sister-in-law, Brenda, wife of Richard Kahler of East Greenville; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a brother, William.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday at Limerick Garden of Memories Chapel followed by burial in the Limerick Garden of Memories with the Rev. Susan Lynch officiating.
