Robert K. Kurtz, 69, widower of Julia J. (Rothermel) Kurtz and companion of Rose Shope, of Palm, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Belle Haven Nursing Center in Quakertown.
Born in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth N. and Mary L. (Katrinak) Kurtz.
Robert served in the United States Army during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion Post 184 in Palm.
He worked as a machinist for Bracalente Manufacturing Group and was a member of the East Greenville Fire Company, East Greenville Owls and the Pike Township Sportsmen’s Association in Oley. He enjoyed bowling, car shows and collecting classic cars.
In addition to his companion, surviving are his daughter, Melissa J., wife of Michael Ryan of Pennsburg; his sister Agnes M., wife of Evan Marks of Green Lane and two grandchildren, Patrick and Samantha Ryan.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial follows in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
