Richard C. Trumbore, 82, widower of Helen M. (Poatsy) Trumbore, of Frederick Mennonite Community, formerly of Pennsburg, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Souderton, he was a son of the late Harvey S. and Florence C. (Cassel) Trumbore.
He was an Agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Allentown for 20 years. After retiring he worked in the Gilbertsville State Store for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for 10 years.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard serving in World War II.
He attended St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with his wife.
He was a member of Perkiomen Lodge #595 F&A M, Red Hill, the Lehigh Consistory, Allentown, the American Legion, Womelsdorf and was also a member of the Hickory Valley Golf League.
Surviving are many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by 3 brothers, Earl, Russell and Robert Trumbore and a sister, Margaret Lancaster.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Robert A. Roncase, Pastor of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday evening and also from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
