Richard J. “Rick” Troxell, 63, husband of Dorothy Mae (Bedwell) Troxell, of Hunter Forge Road, Macungie, formerly of McLean Station Road, Green Lane, died October 21, 2009 at home. He and his wife celebrated 45 years of marriage on June 27th.
Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Mary Edna (Lesher) Troxell.
He was a welder at Dickerson Fleet in Pennsburg for 2 years retiring in 2000 and previously worked 26 years at Arco Inc. in Hatfield.
He served in the Army National Guard for 9 years.
He was a former member of the American Legion, Sellersville.
Surviving along with his wife are 5 children, Maryann, wife of William Utley of Limerick, Joann, wife of Shane Schafer of Schwenksville, Susanne, widow of Daniel Ryan of Souderton, Barbara, wife of Michael Modugno of Macungie and Richard J. Troxell, Jr. and wife, Marlene of Quakertown; a sister, Diane, wife of Greg Kressier of Pennsburg; 17 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Lloyd Troxell.
A funeral service was held 11 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Homer E. Royer, Jr., Co-Pastor of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ officiating. Family and friends were invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
