Richard S. Sweinhart, 86, widow of June Mae (Engle) Sweinhart, of East Greenville, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Phoebe Richland in Richlandtown.
Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Nelson and Beulah (Garr) Sweinhart.
Richard was a butcher for the family business, Engle Butchers, and for Henning’s Market in Harleysville. He also was a bus driver for Norman’s Bus Service.
He was a Mason of the Perkiomen Lodge #595 and enjoyed golfing and going on cruises with his wife.
Surviving are his two children, Bruce E. Sweinhart and wife, JoAnn of East Greenville and Deborah L., wife of Franklin Smith of East Greenville; four grandchildren, Christopher F. Smith of Barto, Carrie H., wife of Jeff Sposetti of Chester Springs, Audrey M., wife of Jeff Kelly of Wynnewood and Alyson L., wife of Andrew Kurz of Glen Mills; and four great-grandchildren, Justin, Charlie, Danee and Hayden.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his siblings, Ronald Sweinhart and Marjorie Sell.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Cremation services entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, Pa 18041.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to the National Kidney Foundation, 1500 Walnut St #301, Philadelphia, PA 19102.
