Richard N. Scholl of Pennsburg, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem. He was 83 years old. He was the loving husband of Joan C. (Houseknecht) Scholl. He was born in Pennsburg to the late Kermit and Eva (Kline) Scholl.
Richard was a 1955 graduate of East Greenville High School and went on to work as a bartender at the former Judge Coopers, a mechanic at Hunsberger Chevrolet, an upholsterer at Knolls, Inc. and retired in 2000 as a shipping clerk from Stauffer Manufacturing.
He was also a boy scout leader for Troop #591 and enjoyed bowling, fishing and shooting darts. He was a member of St. Philip Neri R.C Church in Pennsburg.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Dale M. Scholl and wife, Kimberly of Pennsburg, Daniel N. Scholl and wife, Carla of Boyertown and Dean C. Scholl and wife, Lauren of Boyertown; seven grandchildren, Taryn and husband, Michael, Daniel, Aaron and wife, Casey, Ashley and husband, Derrick, Tracy and husband, Brad, Samantha and husband, Matthew, and Joshua; six great-grandchildren, Chase, Jack, Evie, Callie, Kira and Ian; a sister, Mary Ann Callow; and a brother, David Scholl and wife Barbara. He is predeceased by his daughter, Debra R. Cashatt; and a grandson, Clifford Cashatt.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A viewing will be held from 10 to 10:45 AM at the funeral home prior to the service. His burial will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery in Pennsburg on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 12:30 PM.
