Richard Schikora

May 29, 1946 — October 18, 2020

Richard M. Schikora, 74, of The Vineyards Community in Upper Hanover, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital-Upper Bucks Campus. He was the loving husband of Susan M. (Radcliff) Schikora, sharing 48 years of marriage together.

Born in Willow Springs, IL, he was the son of the late Victor and Agnes (Papiernik) Schikora, Sr.

Richard was a graduate of Argo Community High School in Summit, Illinois and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics Management from Southern Illinois University. Richard was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service as a Ground Radio Communications Tech. After retiring the family moved to Red Hill where he worked at Reigner’s Department Store in the delivery and installation department and later at the United States Post Office in East Greenville and the Souderton/Telford office retiring in 2008.

He was a member of St. Philip Neri R.C. Church in Pennsburg, a lifetime member of the Red Hill VFW Post 5954, a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and a Third Degree Member of Knights of Columbus Council 6614 East Greenville. After retirement he enjoyed wood working and his American Flyers train collection.

Surviving along with his wife, are his two children, Victor Schikora of Boyertown and Carrie Sue Valerio and her husband Michael of Camden DE; two grandchildren, Logan Rose and Abigail Valerio; and a sister, Helen Pesat of Elk Grove Village, IL. He was predeceased by his brother Victor Jr and sister Agnes Jagodzinski.

Services will be private at this time for the immediate family. Arrangements entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the VFW Post 5954, 401 Main St, Red Hill, PA 18076 or to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation at www.npcf.us.
