Richard E. Heacock, 79, husband of Doris I. (Walter) Heacock and the late Ruth I. (Krebs) Heacock, of Green Lane and formerly of Pennsburg, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at home.
Born in Upper Dublin Township, he was a son of the late Alvin H. and Mabel B. (Godshall) Heacock.
Richard worked as a painter for Peddlers Village, Lahaska, PA until he retired in 1996.
He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Church in Bechtelsville.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 19 years are two children, Richard E. Heacock, Jr. and wife, Robin of Green Lane and Linda A, wife of Alan Kiefer of Perkasie; three step-children, Charles N. Christman of Red Hill; Linda L., wife of Gary Rutherford of Green Lane and Robin M, wife of Charles R. Rhoads, Jr. of Boyertown; 5 grandchildren, Robert, Nicholas, Jenny, Jason and Cindy; 7 step-grandchildren, Abigail, Cody, Gary, David, Kathy, Kandy and Bill; and many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his late wife Ruth, he was predeceased by siblings, Alvin M., Charles N., Milton R., Walter H., Stanley J., Sydney L. and Robert W. Heacock and Annie M. Moore and a step-daughter, Doris A. Linzy.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. John Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, North Wales, PA. There will be a viewing from 10 am until 11 am, Friday at the funeral home.
