Richard “Bones” W. Egolf, Jr., 59, of Birdsboro, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Crozer-Chester Hospital in Upland, PA. He was the loving husband of Sharon (Swoyer) Egolf, sharing 14 years of marriage together before her passing in 2018.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Richard W. and Eva (Frederick) Egolf, Sr.
Richard was 1977 graduate of Boyertown High School and worked as a machinist at Federal Mogul in
Boyertown for 24 years and at Brentwood Industries in Reading for about six years.
He was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Barto and a former member of Friendship & Hook Ladder in Boyertown, Gilbertsville Fire Co., Sassamansville Fire Co., Keystone Fire Co. of Bechtelsville, East Greenville Fire Co., Oley Fire Co., Green Lane Fire Co., Goodwill Fire Co. in Bally, Liberty Fire Co. in New Berlinville, Fraternal Order of Eagle in Pottstown, Pottstown Oasis, the Owls in Boyertown, Gabelsville Athletic Association, Pike Township Sportsmen Association and the American Legion Post 184.
Richard enjoyed NHRA racing, going to auctions, Woodstock, Tiger, and going on drives and visits.
Surviving are his companion, Violet Craft; three children, Richard W. Egolf III and wife, Rebecca, Jeremy S. Egolf and Kimberly M. Egolf and her companion, Philip Berry, Jr.; four step-children Christopher M. Oister and wife Bobbie-Jo, Danielle M. Sykes, Kenneth J. Oister and wife Megan, and Renee M., wife of Roger Feldman; 11 grandchildren, Brianna, Nicole, Xavieria, Sean, Quentin, Kyan, Tristan, Brayden, Devin, Alexander, and Penelope; eight step-grandchildren, Trevor, Dillon, Coral, Jared, Caiden, Victoria, Aliviah and Karlee; two sisters, Roxanne Weidenhammer and Vickie, wife of Greg Kintner; and his cat, Midnight.
He is predeceased by three step-grandchildren, Hailey, Hannah, and Blake.
