Richard M. Buck, 81, husband of the late Ethel A. (Poggi) Buck, of Red Hill, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospice - Allentown.
Born in Red Hill, PA he was the son of the late Earl and Beatrice (Moll) Buck.
Richard worked for Montgomery County Bridge Construction for 25 years prior to working at the former Pillsbury Baking Co., of East Greenville for 8 years before retiring. He was a longtime member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg.
Richard loved baseball; he was inducted into the Tri-County league Baseball Hall of Fame, played first base for the Phillies minor league, past-president of the Upper Perk Sports Boosters and coached the Perk Legion and Upper Perk Little League.
Survivors: Children, R. Michael Buck and wife, Nancy, Red Hill; Scott B. Buck and wife, Lynda, East Greenville; Barbara A. Prizer widow of Wayne, East Greenville; Glenn P. Buck and wife, Stacey, Spinnerstown; Gordon A. Buck, Red Hill; Leighann M. Cannon and husband, David, Red Hill; and Chris L. Buck and wife, Wendy, Pennsburg; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services: Mass 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial follows in Holy Cross Cemetery. There will be a viewing 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
