Ray M. Heffentrager, 91, husband of the late Ruth M. (Myers) Heffentrager, of Milford Township, Bucks County, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Pennsburg Manor.
Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Frederick O. and Ellen R. (Miller) Heffentrager.
He was the owner of Ray Heffentrager Inc. He also served as the Milford Township Supervisor from 1964 through 1969.
He was a longtime member of Trinity Great Swamp United Church of Christ in Spinnerstown where he served on Consistory and the Cemetery Association.
He was also a member of Perkiomen Lodge #595 F&AM, the Perkiomen Square Club, The Perkiomen Valley Veteran’s Home Association, the Owl’s Nest #1302, East Greenville, Mumbauersville Gun Club, Milford Township Fire Company, Lower Milford Township Fire Company and Red Hill Fire Company.
Ray will be remembered by many as a faithful visitor to local nursing homes and hospitals.
Surviving are four children, William R. Heffentrager, and wife, Evelyn; Eric S. Heffentrager and wife, Doreen and Linda H. Ducellier, all of Quakertown and Susan H. Ulmer of Harleysville; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Geraldine Peterson, a brother, Mark M. Heffentrager, a grandson, Timothy R. Ducellier and a son-in-law, Rey E. Ducellier.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Trinity Great Swamp UCC, 9150 Spinnerstown Road, Spinnerstown, PA 18968 with Rev. David Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 and also from 10 am until 11 am on Friday at the church.
