Peter F. Szczybek, 84, husband of the late Ethel K. (Price) Szczybek, of Red Hill, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the home of his granddaughter, Donna Weller.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Peter S. and Helen (Ruchalski) Szczybek.
He worked for 38 years for Unisys, Blue Bell, PA in repair and installation of heating and air conditioning, retiring in 1990. He was a Union President for 20 years while at Unisys.
Peter was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg, PA.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Peter loved golfing, darts, polka and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is a sister, Dorothy, wife of Walter Kolb, Pennsburg, PA; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by daughters, Janet Lynn Hager-Beck and Peggy Lee Szczybek-Hallahan and a brother, Joseph Szczybek.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1359 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18041 with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p. m. at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 and Monday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
