Pearl J. “Pinky” (Miller) Reed, 85, widow of Robert T. Reed, of Schwenksville and formerly of East Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Greenfield of Perkiomen Valley in Schwenksville.
Born in Boyertown, she was a daughter of the late Stella (Bossert) Miller.
Pinky worked in the candy store at Blommer of East Greenville and as a waitress for many local restaurants.
She was a member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ in Sumneytown and enjoyed going to the “Golden Ages” at the Senior Center.
Pinky loved her cat, Pepper and playing cards, especially 500 Rummy, and Bingo. She was extremely friendly and outgoing and was considered a social butterfly.
Surviving are her four children, Christine, wife of Sylvester Hoffman of Perkiomenville; A. Theodore Reed, III and wife, Pak of Collegeville; Wendy, wife of Carl Detwiler of Zionsville and Jeffrey A. Reed and wife, Jen of Zionsville; three brothers, Youngsted Miller and wife, Barbara of Gilbertsville; Glenn Miller and wife, Dawn of Alburtis and Michael Miller and wife, Susan of Boyertown; one sister, Betsy Sturkey of Red Hill; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur, Gary and Theodore Miller and a sister, Arlene Miller.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Dr. Marianne Unger officiating. Burial is private at Limerick Garden of Memories. There will be a visitation from 10:30 am until 12 Noon, Monday at the funeral home. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com
