Pauline “Polly” M. (Cleaver) Young, 84, of Green Lane, formerly of Palm, widow of Rodney K. Young entered eternal rest on April 18, 2010.
Pauline lived a full life. Born in Palm, PA she was the daughter of the late Myrtle (Lachman) and J. Oliver Cleaver. She was a graduate of East Greenville High School in 1944 and Allentown Business College in 1945. She was a housewife and mother who also helped run the family business, Cleaver and Sons.
Polly was an avid golfer and bowler. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo with family, friends and organizations. She liked being out and was a dedicated supporter of her children and grandchildren’s activities and sports, no matter what they did.
She was a member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church, the Upper Perkiomen Business & Professional Women’s Club, the Upper Perkiomen Senior Community Center, East Greenville, PA and she was a member of the Top of The World “Hole in One” Club in Ocala, FL.
Pauline is survived by a daughter, Susan Marsh-Youngken and husband, Jerry of Scotrun, PA; two sons, Timothy Young and wife, Judith, of Shavertown, PA and David Young and wife, Sandra, of Palm, PA; two brothers, Oliver Cleaver and wife Laurine of Palm and Donald Cleaver of Philadelphia, PA; eight grandchildren, Luke Marsh and Laura Southard; Kevin and Kelly Young; Jon, Amanda, Blair and AiYi Young and one great-grandson, Wyatt Southard. She was predeceased by her step-mother who raised her, Edna (Schantz) Cleaver, son-in-law, Dale R. Marsh and granddaughter, Colleen Rose Young.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA. Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be private.
