Paul G. Dykie, 85, widower of Mary E. (Pfrommer) Dykie, of Perkiomenville, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Frederick Living.
Born in Perkiomenville, he was the son of the late Paul P. and Anna A. (Antonite) Dykie.
He worked as a Tire Builder at the former Firestone Tire in Pottstown for 30 years retiring in 1980. After retiring he worked for the Montgomery County Park System in Green Lane.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sumneytown and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He will be sadly missed by his two children, Paula L., wife of James Scheffey of Elverson and Thomas P. Dykie, Sr. and wife, Joanne of Pottstown; three grandchildren, Megan Scheffey of Reading, Jenna Dykie of Las Vegas, NV and Thomas P. Dykie, Jr. and wife, Jamie, of Pottstown; a great grandson, Tyson Dykie; a brother-in-law, John Pfrommer of Douglassville; a sister-in-law, Anne Dykie of Perkiomenville and several nieces and nephews. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Jim Dykie.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Rebecca Eisenhart officiating. Burial follows in Frieden’s Union Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
